Pizzabacken – How to Make a Pizza

Pizzabacken is an absolute hit amongst our amazingly fun kitchen experiences.

It is a great way for kids to spend a day learning new skills and making new friends! We take children on super trips around Rome, including our myths and heroes tour, Pizza making and treasure hunts in Villa Borghese.

Using our range of baking equipment we bake the perfect Pizza every time, with no mess and without fuss.

We start by preparing the dough, which is prepared in a special oven and is rolled out onto a pizza tray and baked at 280 degC for 5 minutes. Once the dough is cooked we add the toppings and sprinkle the sauce over the top of the crust.

Then we cover the pie with more dough and bake it at 180 degC for another 15 minutes. This process is repeated until the dough has risen to the correct height.

After that we put the pizza on the grill and cook it for a further 10 minutes, turning it over once or twice. Then we add the Tomatensauce and a few other ingredients and cook for another 5 minutes.

This is the same process used in neapolitan Pizzerias to make the perfect Pizza!

To create the Pizza sauce we mix up a simple blend of olive oil, lemon juice and basil leaves. Then we add some crushed garlic and spices, such as chilli flakes, to give it a little kick.

Aside from the sauce, we also include a variety of fresh and flavourful toppings. These include ham, speck, salami, cheese and many more.

All these ingredients come together to make the perfect pizza, which we can then enjoy with our own special dipping sauce. We also make our own ricotta cheese for the tangy, creamy topping.
